This letter is in response to Cary Tucker’s letter regarding the Triton Free Friday events being largely sponsored by the 49ers. The 49ers have not been a corporate sponsor of these events over the past year. The flyer promoting the monthly event clearly states “Triton Free Fridays are presented by the City of Santa Clara, Santa Clara Cultural Commission, supported by the Triton Museum, Santa Clara Performing Arts Foundation, Santa Clara Sister Cities Association and Mariani’s Inn and Restaurant.” The last show of the 2014-15 season will be Friday, June 5, at 7:30 p.m. and feature Mussorgsky’s “Pictures at an Exhibition,” performed by Santa Clara pianist and composer Benjamin Belew. The events have been well-attended. We look forward to the next season of Triton Free Fridays.
