In her Oct. 22 letter to the Mercury News, Christine Koltermann characterizes advertisements warning against voting for Chris Stampolis for the SCUSD Board as “bullying.” Dictionary.com defines “bully” as “a blustering, quarrelsome, overbearing person who habitually badgers and intimidates smaller or weaker people.” How on point. I have personally witnessed Mr. Stampolis address District staff in a manner that could easily fit this definition. He also tried to bully our College District Chancellor (he failed because our Chancellor would have none of it) and I have heard directly from fellow board members that he tried to bully them. This conduct is unproductive and unacceptable. I have not donated to the committee trying to save SCUSD, but for the record I am going to today. Standing up publicly to bad behavior from elected officials when one has direct experience with such behavior is a duty I will not shrink from.
