I beg to differ with your article regarding the Montague Park/soccer field issue. I realize the official report from the city said that people favor using Montague Park for a soccer park 2.5 times more than oppose it. Whatever survey was done was not asked of the people in the surrounding community. You cannot ask the entire city if they favor dumping a soccer park on the north side of town. Those who want to make sure it doesn’t end up in their own backyard will always favor putting it on the north side. Try checking with the people in the Montague neighborhood to see what they think. I guarantee we are not in favor of this. I’m tired of the north side being a dumping ground for the city. It’s no better than the school district dumping on our Title One school saying, “those people won’t complain.”
